Once the seats of ancient kings of the Selangor Sultanate, Jugra is now but a placid town. Even so, the place is worth visiting, as there are many historical buildings here to explore, and one historical building to take note of is none other than the Bandar Palace.Built in 1905 during the reign of Sultan Alauddin Sulaiman Shah, features creative woodsmanship and beautiful designs. It is said that the designs for the entire building was made by none other than Sultan Alauddin himself. There are 15 rooms in Bandar Palace.
For 35 years have Sultan Alauddin resided at this palace, until his death in 1938. Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, the last Sultan of Selangor, was born at this palace.Places worth visiting other than Bandar Palace are the Royal Mausoleum, and the Jugra Lighthouse.
